Hyatt Regency Trinidad’s Must-Try Breakfast Special!

Hyatt Regency Trinidad’s Must-Try Breakfast Special!
Trinidad Breakfast Special - Hyatt Regency Trinidad

There’s something powerful about choosing to pause.

As someone who lives at the intersection of hustle and heart—balancing caregiving, creativity, and Caribbean culture—I know how easy it is to run on autopilot. We check the boxes. We tick off the lists. We make the meals, handle the responsibilities, and somewhere along the way, forget the deep nourishment that only soulful connection can bring.

That’s why I’m passionate about carving out intentional moments to reconnect. Not just with loved ones, but with ourselves. Because there’s something magical that happens when we step outside of our usual roles and simply sit, eat, laugh, and be.

Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad last Thursday was something I really needed. A few hours of laughter and good vibes with one of my besties, delicious bites, and that iconic waterfront view? Yes please. And the best part? The breakfast special that we were taking advantage of was such a hit, the Hyatt Regency Trinidad has now extended it (April 7-11, 14-18)! If you’re craving gourmet flavours, great conversation, and a setting that soothes your soul, this is for you.

Here’s my step-by-step guide to making the most of this limited-time Trinidad breakfast special—from what to expect, what to eat, and how to use the experience as a beautiful pause in your week.

Step 1: Book Early—And I Mean Early!

The buffet closes promptly at 10:00 AM, and you’ll want time to savour every bite. Book for 9:00 AM or earlier so you’re not rushing through the experience. Plus, an earlier slot lets you catch the cool morning breeze drifting in from the ocean.

To book: WhatsApp 47 HYATT and reserve your spot. It’s $350TT for two—VAT included. That’s just $175TT each for a gourmet buffet in a luxe setting.

Step 2: Bring Someone Who Fills Your Cup

There’s food—and then there’s nourishment. I’m talking about the kind of breakfast where you’re not just feeding your body, but also feeding your spirit.

Bring someone who really sees you. Someone who makes you laugh until your sides ache and reminds you of who you are outside the roles and responsibilities.

That’s the real gift here.

Step 3: Arrive with an Open Palate (and an Empty Plate!)

There was an impressive spread—everything from sada bake and fish broth to cassava fries, smoked salmon, chokas, tropical fruit, French toast, danishes, and muffins.

And let me tell you—I don’t usually go in on carbs, but this plate? Yeah, I went a lil wild and I. Regret. Nothing.

Trust me: come hungry and ready to try a little of everything.

Step 4: Don’t Skip the Local Favourites

Surprisingly, the real stars of my morning weren’t the croissants or the danishes, or the large portion of succulent smoked salmon (excellent as they were)—they were the coconut bake (so fluffy and addictive!) and the baigan choka with its smoky, fire-roasted depth.

I honestly didn’t expect to be blown away like that… but I was.

These dishes tasted like home—but with that refined, elevated twist that only a hotel kitchen can deliver.

Step 5: Take in the View (and the Stillness)

The Trinidad Hyatt’s waterfront view is iconic. But more than that, it offers a kind of stillness that’s rare in everyday life.

And one that you definitely don’t expect to be able to enjoy in downtown Port of Spain.

Let your fork rest for a minute.

Breathe.

Look out over the water.

Soak it all in.

These little moments of stillness? They reset us.

Step 6: Snap the Memories, Not Just the Meal

Yes, the food is gorgeous. But don’t forget to capture the moments.

The laughter, the conversations, the sunrise glow on your friend’s face—these are the images you’ll treasure most.

Plus, they make lovely memory posts for later. Just sayin’.

(I felt honoured to be asked to take a picture of the couple dining next to us. He was celebrating his birthday! I hope they had as great as time as my friend and I did.)

Step 7: Let It Inspire You in the Kitchen

If you’ve been feeling stuck in the kitchen or burnt out trying to get everything just right—sometimes the best inspiration comes from letting someone else do the cooking.

This breakfast reminded me how beautiful simple ingredients can be when treated with care.

I left the Hyatt not only full—but inspired. Maybe it’s time to bring out my roasted pepper choka recipe, with some baigan (eggplant) and tomato) to accompany alongside some coconut bake! What allyuh think?

Step 8: Share the Joy (and the Gems!)

If you’ve made it this far, I want to gift you something special.

Final Thoughts: Choose Connection. Choose Joy. Choose the Experience.

Life can be loud. The to-do lists, the constant notifications, the never-ending obligations—they rarely let up. And that’s exactly why moments like these matter.

This Hyatt Regency Trinidad breakfast special isn’t just a buffet—it’s a pause button.

A quiet invitation to step away from the rush.

A gentle reminder that you deserve to be poured into, just as much as you pour into others.

It’s a delicious way to reconnect—with your people, and with yourself.

Because you never know what it might stir awake in you.

You work hard. You carry more than most ever see. And you deserve more than rushed toast and lukewarm coffee on the go.

Make the booking. Make the time. Make the memory.
