Tins and Things

As I had mentioned last year (oh it feels surreal to say that!) every year my Aunt brings over her famed Trinidad Black Cake [1] in the same tins that she has kept them in since I can remember. That is one of the tins above. We have not opened it yet, as we eat all the other Black Cakes that have been brought over to us by friends before we deign to touch hers 
Once we do I’ll update this post with a pic of the slice 
I had wanted to do a shot of the various slices so you could see the tonal variations between cooks and all but you know what? I ate em instead
